Program Policies
Seadrunar Intake and Treatment Policy and Services Provided.
(1) "Traditional" Therapeutic Community Services
- 24 hour supervision within a residential setting
- Structured work position within the Therapeutic Community
- "Morning Meetings" and "Concept Seminars" on a daily basis
- Group Sessions (three weekly in First Phase and twice weekly in Second Phase)
- Intake Interview upon entry by a Chemical Dependency Counselor or a supervised Counselor Intern
- Treatment Plan/Problem List developed by a CDC or CI and the client
- Individual Counseling Sessions/Review of Treatment Plan every two weeks
- Family Counseling as needed
- AIDS information/facts sessions (group and private)
- Review of Progress by a CDC or CI every week
- Records documenting client's activity, including counseling sessions, group, etc.
- GED preparation, if appropriate (Second Phase)
- Weekly developmental leisure activities
- Voluntary participation in job training project through the Recycling Center
- 24 hour confrontation when negative behavior warrants
(2) Services specific to Intake Interview and Treatment Planning:
- Assessment by a CDC to determine if the prospective client is showing current signs of dependence on barbiturates, benzodiazepines or alcohol. If so, the client will be required to be detoxed prior to admission.
- Psychiatric Evaluation (if needed)
- Complete physical and bloodwork within 21 days of entry
- Conferences with criminal justice system regarding client's option(s) (Consent required)
- Conferences with Public Assistance regarding support of client (Consent required)
- Conferences with client's family as needed (Consent required)
- Assessment of client's needs i.e., estimated length of treatment, medical/dental care, education/vocational planning
(3) Services specific to client care:
- Three nutritional meals per day. Menus will be prepared at least one week in advance
- Sundries shall include items needed for good grooming and personal hygiene
- Emergency clothing will also be provided as available if needed
- Adequate sleeping arrangements will be provided apart from cooking, eating, therapy and administrative activities with adequate heating and ventilation with easy access to emergency exits.
Drugs prescribed pursuant to the Treatment Plan shall be controlled and monitored by drug abuse professionals or other licensed medical personnel.
The client will administer their own medication under the supervision of treatment staff. All medications will be stored in a locked cabinet.
Medical records will be kept by the Administrative Assistant and documented in the clients file.
